Research

My principal research interests lie in the field of energy-efficient computer arithmetic. I am currently investigating the impact of redundant number representation on energy efficiency for my PhD using designs space exploration of signed-digit adder cells.

My future research plans are to build on the foundations of my PhD to further develop models and tools in conjunction with fault tolerant encoding schemes. I have a particular expertise and interest in designing and evaluating fast adder, multiplier, MAC and DSP filter computer arithmetic circuits.

Thesis

"Design choices for low power computer arithmetic based on redundant number representation"

Projects

ENEFCA

Energie-Efficient Computer Arithmetic

The main goal of ENEFCA is to investigate properties of computer arithmetic components based on redundant number representation. We focus on RTL-design und gate-level-analysis of energy-efficient carry-save and signed-digit arithmetic used for adder, multiplier, multiply-accumulate and digital filter design.

ERA

Error Resilient Arithmetic

The main goal of ERA is to investigate error resilience detection and correction capabilities of differnet redundant number representations. We focus on RTL-design und gate-level-analysis of detection and correction methodologies used for adder, multiplier, multiply-accumulate and digital filter design.
